Edmonton, Alberta

On our way back from Alaska, we stopped in the Edmonton area for two days.
Our first concert was at the Maximum Security Prison there.
The fact that we even ended up singing there was a total God-thing...we were trying to get all of our forms filled out and processed while we were on the road and it was so difficult.
We used printers/fax machines at multiple places along the way, trying to get everything done so that we could get cleared to go in.
(for the prison crusades that we do every year, it isn't nearly as much work since we go in thru ministry's that already work in the prisons, and they have most of our info on file)
For this prison, though, it was different-it was our first time there and we were going in on our own.
It was really a miracle that everything ended up working out. We got officially cleared to go in the day before we were supposed to be there.
We were supposed to do two services there. satan was working hard against through everything. the prison had been having some things going on among the prisoners the prior week and so no one ended up being able to come out to our first service.
But, praise the Lord, this was the ONLY prison in Canada that, thanks to the chaplain, had live steaming installed from the chapel to the REST OF THE PRISON.
So we went ahead and sang to the wall, and our first concert was broadcasted throughout the entire prison!
About twelve men came out for our second set, and it was also broadcasted through the prison.
Mitchell preached at each set as well and gave the salvation message.
All in all it was amazing-even though it was very different in that we couldn't really see tangible results...we know that there were hundreds who heard the Word and song, throughout the rest of the prison!
And God is so able to work even when circumstances aren't ideal.
We were so blessed. The chaplain really had a heart for his men there and he was such an encouragement to us!
Following the prison service we spent a day with some new friends out in the country.

Our friends live at a mission out in the country.
There were huge gardens and lots of work to do. It almost felt like we were back at home. =)
Definitely...this is looking like the farm in Iowa. =)
I think its safe to say that they had the most amazing green house ever? =)
We got all of our laundry caught up!
